The liver function test will look at biomarkers associated with liver function, such as liver enzymes, Gamma GT, globulin, bilirubin and total protein. The test will tell you if your liver is healthy or if you need to make adjustments to your lifestyle.

Your liver breaks down fats to aid digestion, fights illness and infections for immunity, removes toxins from your body, controls cholesterol levels, clots the blood and stores key nutrients and energy in the form of glycogen. If liver problems are spotted early you can make proactive lifestyle changes to improve your liver function health.

 

What will it show you:

The levels of different enzymes, proteins, and other substances made by the liver, as well as the normal ranges.  

If levels of one or more of these substances are outside of the normal range, it may be a sign of liver disease.
